Distribution & logistics

• The Sparta primary distribution network consists of a number of vehicles for local delivery and delivery across South Africa and Lesotho. Refrigerated trucks are sent to Johannesburg and Bloemfontein on a daily basis.
• Delivery to the Western Cape, Eastern Cape, Limpopo and KwaZulu Natal is outsourced to transport companies. Any overflow to the Gauteng area is also outsourced.
• The Sparta Transport operations controller is in constant contact with all the transport companies that have Sparta loads on the road. These companies send progress reports to Sparta on a daily basis.
• All vehicles are inspected prior to loading. The fitted cooling units ensure that product is transported at a temperature of -10 to 0 ºC to maintain the cold chain. Temperatures are monitored at regular intervals during transit.
