Sparta Beef Cottage Pie

Ingredients

  • 500g Sparta mince
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 grated onion
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 grated carrot
  • Dash Worcester sauce
  • 1 tablespoon tomato puree
  • Sprig of thyme and rosemary
  • 1 cube chicken stock
  • Potato
  • 2 egg yolks
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Pinch salt and pepper

    Preparation

    1. Add boiling water to a stock cube and stir until dissolved
    2. In a heated pan, add olive oil and brown the mince
    3. Add garlic, chopped onions, grated carrot, tomato puree and Worcester sauce and mix together
    4. Add chicken stock and allow to cook out for approximately 3 - 4 minutes
    5. Add sprig of thyme and rosemary
    6. Mash cooked potatoes in a bowl and add two egg yolks
    7. Add grated parmesan cheese
    8. Season with salt and pepper
    9. Mix together
    10. Add mince to an oven dish
    11. Spread potato over the mince
    12. Add more grated parmesan and fork the top
    13. Pop in the oven for 18 – 20 mins
